The Eccotemp microswitch mounts to the gas/water valve assembly and opens the circuit that starts the ignition process and regulates the gas flow. To check if the Eccotemp microswitch is working properly remove the cover and manually open the metal swing arm to see if it activates the ignition process. Needing to replace a microswitch is extremely rare, so contact Technical Support at 866-356-1992 if you feel you need advice.
